Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of FolioGen (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What FolioGen does

FolioGen lets you upload a CV, generates a structured portfolio from it using AI, lets you edit and customize that portfolio, and hosts a public page for it at foliogen.io/<your-username>.

2. Waitlist

Before FolioGen is generally available, we may run a waitlist. Joining the waitlist does not create an account and does not bind you to these Terms. We'll email you once when launch happens. You can ask us to remove your waitlist entry at any time. We may discontinue the waitlist or change the launch timeline without notice.

3. Your account

  • You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password safe. Tell us at security@foliogen.io if you think your account has been accessed without permission.
  • You must provide accurate information when signing up.
  • One person, one account, unless we agree otherwise.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Upload content you don't have the right to use, including impersonating someone else or copying their CV.
  • Post content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, sexually explicit, or that promotes violence or discrimination.
  • Send spam or use the Service's contact form to send unsolicited marketing.
  • Probe, scan, or test the Service's vulnerabilities without our written permission.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, the underlying infrastructure, or other users.
  • Use the Service to compete with us by scraping or replicating it.

We can suspend or close accounts that breach these rules.

5. Your content

You own the content you upload (CVs, images, text). By uploading it, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, process, display, and reproduce it for the purpose of providing the Service, including processing it through our AI provider, hosting your public portfolio, and sending it to your visitors when they view your page.

When you publish a portfolio, you also grant the public the ability to view it at your URL. Unpublishing removes that public access.

You can delete your content at any time. After deletion, copies may persist temporarily in backups before being removed.

6. AI-generated content

Portfolios are generated by an AI model based on the CV you upload. AI outputs can contain mistakes, paraphrasing, or fabrications. You are responsible for reviewing your portfolio before publishing it and for making sure the claims in it are accurate. FolioGen is a tool; the final portfolio is yours, and you are responsible for it.

7. Plans and payment

FolioGen has two tiers: a free tier and Lifetime Pro.

  • Freeincludes one portfolio, your foliogen.io URL, AI structuring, one AI regeneration per week, and the “Built with FolioGen” footer link on your public page.
  • Lifetime Prois a one-time payment that unlocks unlimited portfolios, unlimited AI regenerations, removal of the “Built with FolioGen” footer, custom contact email, and all future Pro features for the lifetime of your account.

Pricing

The first 100 Lifetime Pro spots are sold at the founder price of USD $39. After the first 100, Lifetime Pro is USD $79. Waitlist members who use the code LAUNCH50 get Lifetime Pro at USD $19 while the founder tier is still open. The code is only valid for emails present on our waitlist; reservations with non-waitlist emails are priced at the regular founder price.

How payment works (current phase)

We are not yet integrated with an automated payment processor. When you click “Reserve my spot”, we create a pending reservation and email you payment instructions. You can pay via:

  • Wise (recommended for most countries)
  • Bank transfer (SEPA / IBAN / ACH)
  • PayPal
  • Crypto (USDC or USDT on Ethereum or Tron)

Reservations are held for 72 hours. Once we confirm your payment landed, we mark your account as Lifetime Pro and send you a confirmation email, usually within one business day. If the reservation is not paid within 72 hours, your spot is released. We will integrate an automated checkout (Lemon Squeezy or similar) in the coming weeks; existing Lifetime Pro accounts will not be affected when that happens.

Refunds and the 14-day guarantee

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on Lifetime Pro. If you change your mind within 14 days of your payment landing, email hello@foliogen.io and we will refund you to the same channel you paid with (Wise, bank, PayPal, or crypto). After 14 days, Lifetime Pro is non-refundable unless the law in your country requires otherwise.

Subscriptions (future)

A monthly / yearly subscription plan is planned for a future release. Pricing and terms for that tier will be shown on the pricing page when it launches. Subscriptions will renew automatically until cancelled and we will not refund unused time unless local law requires us to.

8. Service availability

We work to keep FolioGen available, but we do not guarantee uptime. We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service. When we do, we'll try to give reasonable notice for material changes.

9. Termination

  • You can delete your account from your profile at any time.
  • We can suspend or terminate your account for breach of these Terms, for fraud or abuse, or because we are required to by law.
  • On termination, your public portfolio becomes inaccessible and your data is deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that AI outputs will be accurate or fit for any specific purpose.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FolioGen, its operators, and contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages (including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption) arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD 50.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at the operator's place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of the operator's jurisdiction, except where local consumer-protection law requires otherwise.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when features change. The Last updated date at the top reflects the most recent change. Significant changes will be announced by email or in-app. Continuing to use the Service after changes go into effect means you accept the new Terms.
